ZWIFT

We have had approximately forty COW's members or friends of COW's that partake in Weekly workouts or Racing during the Winter months.  Yes, even President Joe Gilles takes a day off from skiing to join us in a workout!

Please read below if interested in Thursday and Saturday Workouts or Racing on Tuesdays or Thursdays.  Our Motto is "Never be out of Shape."  Please register if you would like to race either day, both days, or just participate in our 2 weekly workouts.

Zwift Racing League

Are you ready to race!  You Zwifters out there that have participated in any Zwift races know how much fun they can be.  This is the COW's sixth season competing in the ZRL (this is ZRL's sixth season), that's right we have been there since the beginning!

Every year ZRL makes changes to their format and this year is no different.  They are bringing us 4 Rounds of 6 action packed races!.  A new race format starts off each round called - "The Race of Truth."  Each team will only race with 5 racers.  Just two of multiple changes that have taken place.

Let's virtually race together this Winter on Tuesday mornings at 11:00ish AM (PST) for our C Team and 4:30 PM (PST) for our   D Team.  Last year was the the first year we had an ALL Women's team that will be competing in the Women's D Team at 11:15 AM.  All teams are available for recruiting, so please consider joining.

Round 1 starts September 18th and runs for 6 weeks.  Round two of four begins November 17th and ends six weeks later.   Many of us did not start racing until round 2 last year which starts in November.

WTRL TTT on Thursdays

If you are interested in throwing your hat in the ring on Thursdays, WTRL runs their TTT all day.  So we should be able to select an appropriate time for all that would like to participate.  WTRL is on TTT format, with mixed category riders.  Here is a sample of team makeup.

  • Latte: For mid-pack riders, allowing a maximum of 3 Category B and 5 Category C riders.
  • Mocha: For developing or relaxed pacing groups, allowing a maximum of 3 Category C and 5 Category D riders.

We can either put in teams of 4 or teams of 6-8 riders.  WTRL is a bit more relaxed with their league and do not require a HR monitor to race.

If interested in racing email Brian at bstaiger58@gmail.com and click this link to see what you have to do to enroll.  Please register as a racer on this event page.

Zwifties Work Outs

Zwifties workouts' will begin in November!   Zwifties consisting of Wheelers and friends of Wheelers who are not interested in racing but want to continue to train throughout the winter.   We had such a great turnout for those workouts with somedays pushing twenty riders.  The beauty is you never fall behind, as long as you keep pedaling!  Zwift MAGIC keeps you with the group while you train in your specific power zones, never anyone else's power zones.  This allows D riders to ride with A riders.

Our Workout days are Thursday's and Saturday's starting at 9:00 AM (PST).  Thursday is a higher Power Zone workout lasting no longer than an hour.  Our Saturday workout will will between 1.5-2 hrs. long.  Our motto is "Never be out of Shape."  If you are looking to keep that cycling shape going, join us as we believe in riding with others make it easier to achieve that goal.

If we can put together a WTRL TTT,  I would still be able to set up a WO ride for not racers on Thursdays.

Please sign up if you are interested in working out with us on one or both of our workout days.  Click this link to learn to learn more about Workout procedure.
