Priest Hole
Mitchell, OR
October 5th
There have been recent fire outbreaks in this area, we will keep a watchful eye on their containment.
Registration will close down by Sunday, September 29th.
For the last three years there have been a number of Central Oregon Wheelers that have taken on the Famous Priest Hole (gravel) loop in the John Day region. October is a wonderful time of the year to ride this challenging ride. The Wheelers are offering up a 2 day adventure of gravel or road (w/SAG support). Your choice road 1 day, gravel the next.
Day 1
Gravel Ride: Priest Hole-49.3 miles (Thank you to Dirty FreeHub for discovering this wonderful experience in the John Day Region). Join the Roadies for a 10:00 departure. Enjoy Girds Creek Canyon as you fly through time to the John Day River. This is where you will split from the Roadies to Priest Hole and get an up close view of the Painted Hills formations. Meet at Mitchell City Park at 9:45 am. It is roughly a 2 hr. drive from Bend. Gravel rides are non-supported.
