We’re lucky to have two excellent hill-interval spots from Tumalo: O.B. Riley and Johnson! Not only that, they ride differently, keeping things interesting for different types of workouts!
O.B. Riley from the guardrail up to Destiny is 0.9 mi, 200’ gain, 4.5% avg, 6.4% max. Johnson from Tumalo Reservoir up to Tyler is 2 mi, 325’ gain, 3.1% avg, 8.1% max.
With your workout plan in mind, let’s meet behind Tumalo Coffee (4th and Bruce) at 9:30 to discuss what workouts folks will be doing. Don’t worry if you don’t have a plan… someone will help you create one! We’ll roll together at 9:45 for a 15-minute warmup, followed by 45 minutes of interval work. That probably allows enough time for 3 Johnson or 5 OB Riley repeats. Plan to return to re-group behind Tumalo Coffee at about 10:45. Then optionally you can join my ‘Local Hilly Loop CCW’ ride, or any other posted ride from Tumalo, at 11:00.
