Bikes, Bikes, and Beer

The Central Oregon Wheelers have an opportunity to attend a private tour of the Argonaut Bike Production Shop!!  If you have not heard of this company, know that it is located right here in Bend.  Argonaut has their Bike Production Shop and another separate Frame Fab and Paint Shop located on the West side.

Cyclist Review, January 2023

"It would seem counterintuitive for a bike whose tubes aren’t much wider than oversize steel, but the RM3 is stiff, from punching off the mark to big-gear, low-cadence efforts, to climbing hard out of the saddle. However, its ultimate trick is the way it handles despite the stiffness."

  • Thank you to Club member Bob Keeth for setting up this private tour just for the COW's.  Our tour will consist of a first stop at the Bike Production Shop followed by a quick drive over to their Frame Fab and Paint Shop.  (We can car pool to the second shop).  Our guide on this tour will be Production Manager Wade Beauchamp.  Our tour is scheduled for Wednesday, September 13 at 4:00 pm.  Registration closes on September 7th.

Rouleur Review, August 2022

"The bike’s light weight is, of course, ever present when riding the RM3, especially with the advantage it gives up steep climbs or long mountains. It gives the bike a feeling of fragility and elegance, but at the same time, the RM3 feels incredibly stiff and sturdy on descents. It responds well to every acceleration thrown at it, actually feeling like it gets more stable as the speed increases. I felt like the bike gave me more confidence on descents, I trusted it to glide over rough terrain, to be quick and agile if I needed to skirt around any potholes and support me if I hit a corner fast. At lower speeds it handles well too: I felt like I could communicate with the bike, like the RM3 and I got on well. It listened and did what I hoped it would do, smoothing out vibrations on rougher terrain and helping me to nail the line I wanted on technical corners."

  • Our tour will be limited to the first 20 individuals that sign up.  Signups will end on September 7th as we need to inform Argonaut the number of Wheelers that will be attending.  This is a great opportunity to tour a Custom built production company first hand.  It absolutely will peak your curiosity!
  • We plan on gathering at Good Life Brewery after the Frame Fab and Paint tour which is very close to the Brewery.

THANK YOU BOB!
