A very scenic ride with many view points. The ride goes by historical homesteads established in the 1880s (Cyrus and McCoin) with well preserved orchards. The roads are typically in good shape and consist of 4 miles paved, 16 miles of gravel. There is a fun but steep, chunky descent after the orchards. Cowdog nirvana.

To get to the start, drive north on Hwy 97 past Terrebonne, drive for another 11 miles on Hwy 97 and look for the signs for Haystack Lake. Turn right on Jericho Ln, drive another mile and turn right on Haystack Dr. The first paved road on the left will be the North Fishing Pier Day Use Area which ends in a parking area with a clean vault toilet. It takes around 45 minutes to get to the start from Bend. Please arrive early enough for a 9:30 start.

Possibility for a Wild Ride Brewery lunch stop in Redmond after the ride.

Maximum AQI of 100 as measured in Madras.
