This is one of our favorite gravel rides. It is a shorter version of the original Dirty Freehub Sherman's March route. We'll meet at the west (far) end of the Lower Bridge, on the left after you cross the bridge. It is near the Lower Bridge campground. We'll start the ride with a sunny climb with beautiful mountain views. The route includes cinder and paved roads and some easy single track through the Metolius Preserve. We'll stop for lunch along the river near the Camp Sherman store.

After lunch, we'll ride past the Head of the Metolius to the next gravel segment, a moderate climb up the north shoulder of Black Butte and Green Ridge. From there, it is mostly downhill back to Lower Bridge. Total elevation gain of 2250ft.

It's about an hour drive from Bend to Lower Bridge on the Metolius. Be ready to roll at 9:15 a.m. Tubeless gravel tires of a minimum width of 40mm are highly recommended. It is always wise to load the route on your Garmin or other device, or your phone.

This is a fully vaccinated ride only.
