Ride the Rogue... and MORE

This is a weekend gathering in southern Oregon built around the Ride the Rogue organized event on September 21. I'm throwing this out there as a general plan, but with lots of options depending on who joins and what individuals or the group wants. Since it requires we make the trek to Rogue River, the plan is to make it a multi-day event and maybe even add some Ashland theater fun.

Here's the basic plan: We drive to Rogue River on Friday, September 20 and lodge for the evening somewhere in the vicinity of Rogue River or Ashland. I have a couple of camping options in mind, but there are plenty of motels, Airbnbs, hostels, or other options available. Details to be determined individually or by group. (But we need to act quickly.)

The Ride the Rogue event features 20, 40, 62, and 100 mile route options. Individuals would need to sign up via Ride the Rogue's website. Cost for the ride varies from $30-65 (+$5 after Sept 1) depending on desired length. We could ride together or separately--individual's choice--then meet up for the after-ride party and whatever evening events we choose before retiring to our chosen camping/lodging.

But, instead of quitting after one day's ride, I've added a Sunday ride for those who want to stay. The plan is to do the Siskiyou Scenic Bike Bikeway that meanders through the hills north of Ashland. It's not an easy ride and some might not be up for the full circuit, but we can probably work out logistics to accommodate different distances or difficulties. The plan is then to stay the night, maybe catch a theater show in Ashland, and drive back to Bend on Monday.

For now, details are fluid and I'd like to get a sense of interest and commitment from the group before going much further. Sign up if you want to join and we'll take it from there.
