Tumalo Loop 2 - Progressive Wednesday #5

Ride Classification Leader  GPS My Ride

This week’s ride is a 35 mile route that starts at Tumalo Coffee. It is an extension of last weeks ride. This route first heads south across Highway 20 and up Bailey Road to Tumalo Reservoir Road where we'll ride rural roads eventually crossing Highway and connecting with Innes Market Road. From there well ride to Cline Falls Highway, turn east on Highway 126 for a short distance, and then head south back to Tumalo through farming lands on the east side of the Deschutes River. Cline Falls Scenic Picnic Area is halfway and a nice spot for a quick break. Afterwards, we can grab a bite to eat at The Bite in Tumalo.

The objective of the progressive rides is to prepare riders for the longer rides like the Tour the Des Chutes or the Firecracker 100 by increasing ride length every week. Rides will take place in the Tumalo and China Hat road areas, and other areas outside of Bend/Tumalo, like the Crooked River Canyon, Lake Billy Chinook (Madras Mountain Views), or Sisters areas. These rides are a great way to increase endurance, meet new friends, learn about new ride routes, and enjoy the scenic beauty of rural of Oregon.
