McKay Creek Out-n-Back

Ride Classification Leader  GPS My Ride

This ride welcomes ALL RIDERS, A-E, for an out-and-back challenge of your choosing. The route leaves Prineville's Ochoco Creek Park (near the bathrooms) and heads north to follow McKay Creek into the Ochocos. It's a spectacularly beautiful ride that holds a modest grade most of the way, then gets a bit steeper as you get towards the end. The route can stretch to 48 miles if you go all the way to the end of pavement, but the most common "full length" turn-around point is somewhere around mile 21. Check the map profile to find the distance and gradient that suits you.

Since it's an out-and-back, everyone is free to ride at their chosen pace and distance, turning around at any point. It's always nice to meet up at the end, so we may alter the starting time a bit once we see who signs up. If it works out, we'll plan on meeting on Good Bike's patio after the ride for a beverage and bite.

So... Here's the plan: Sign up AND send davidjgarcia@mac.com an email to let me know at what pace and distance you'd like to ride. I'll watch the weather and either cancel the ride on Friday if the forecast looks bad, or contact everyone with groupings and details.
