McKenzie Highway is one of Oregon's best cycling routes--especially when it's reserved for cyclist. They're doing post-Milli-fire cleanup during the week, but it's open to cyclists on weekends. And, best of all, the roads are swept clean for a smooth climb and rocket-fast decent.

We'll meet at Village Green Park in Sisters and head to the observatory at the top. Turning around at that point would result in a 31-mile ride, with 2,374 feet of climbing. If you want a bit more, you can keep going across the top to Obsidian trailhead junction, for a 40 mile loop with about 3,000 feet of climbing. Or, if you want to really test your mettle, you can can ride to the far gate and back, which extends the ride to 55 miles, with nearly 5,000 feet of climbing.

Bottom line is that there are many options to challenge any rider. Miles, climbing, cruising... we got it all. All are welcome.
