Hood River/Mosier/7-Mile

The Gorge promises nice weather this weekend! Team Coyote will lead a ride on Saturday and Sunday.

Saturday we will ride out of Hood River on the Twin Tunnels bike trail to Mosier where we join the old Highway 30 route to the Rowena Overlook followed by the twisting descent through the curves into The Dalles. So far so good! Now it's time to sit in and climb 7-Mile Hill to create a circuit back to Mosier. And since we are at it, we will retrace our route 1 more time to The Dalles and up 7-Mile before returning to Hood River. 

This will be a leg burner; about 69 miles with nearly 7,000 feet of gain. This is a tough course and even though it is all on asphalt, riders need to be come prepared for challenging climbing. Posting as a 'D' pace, understanding there are sections where grinding out 5 MPH is about all one can do. 

After this ride you have earned your post ride libation. It's Cinco de Mayo, but don't go too crazy because we have a Ride planned for Sunday to spin out the legs.
