Progressive Tuesday 9

Tumalo Area

Ride Classification Leader  GPS My Ride
C/53/Frequent Terry Belunes  Link

The ninth in a series of increasingly longer rides with the intent of increasing rider endurance. Rides are every Tuesday and ride length will generally increase by about 5 to 10 miles a week.

This week it's a 53 mile ride starting in Tumalo, north to Lower Bridge Way to cross the Deschutes River just west of Terrebonne. Then south through Redmond returning to Tumalo via Cline Falls Highway. The ride includes plenty of flat terrain, plus some climbing out of the dry canyons in the area northwest of Redmond.

The objective of the Progressive Tuesdays rides is to prepare riders for the longer rides like those associated with the Tour the De Chutes or the Firecracker 100. Rides will take place in the Tumalo, China Hat road, Sunriver/La Pine areas, and if interest supports, scenic bike rides like the Crooked River canyon or Sisters to Smith Rocks rides. These rides are a great way to increase endurance, learn about new ride routes, and enjoy the scenic beauty of rural of Oregon.
