  • Great Hall, Sunriver, OR

This is a non-club ride. Central Oregon Wheelers are invited to this Bend Bella ride. Bend Bella is a women's riding club, but guys are invited on this particular ride. Be sure to bring your signed waivers if you are not a Bella’s member. By definition all males are non-members! Non-members are welcome on their first ride without a membership but must sign a waiver and give it to the ride leader before the ride. Please note that this privilege may only be used once – you must become a member before attending your second Bella ride. You can download a waiver here. BEND BELLA CYCLISTS waiver 2015-16.

Ride Start: Great Hall, Sunriver

Ride Details: This classic Oregon climbing route ascends to alpine meadows and lakes in the shadow of majestic Cascade peaks. A challenging ride, this 57-mile loop through Deschutes National Forest embarks on a breathtaking climb along 3 Trappers Pass (named for early explorers and trappers Kit Carson, John C. Fremont and Nathaniel J. Wyeth), to the Cascades Lakes Highway. The towering Cascade Mountains provide the backdrop for this scenic ride. After an exhilarating climb, we are rewarded by a downhill ride around Crane Prairie reservoir. From there, we will head into the Crane Prairie Resort where we will refuel, and then loop back to Sunriver.

This ride is for intermediate/advanced riders due to length and elevations. The rider should be able to ride moderate distances with increased elevation gain and loss. ALL of our rides are ‘no-drop’ rides and the Bellas are committed to helping one another improve our riding skills. In consideration of other riders, however, we do ask that you choose an ability level that is close to your skills. If you are building a particular skill, please let the ride leader know.

Bring money as we will stop at Crane Prairie Resort to refuel. Limited beverages and snacks are available for purchase at the Resort. Restrooms are available.

For more information: Contact Catherine Conlon at conlonmiller@yahoo.com or (541) 388-1808. If the weather is iffy, please contact the ride leader to see if it's still on.
